BRIEF HISTORY
1947
Founded with an initial membership of 46 universities and established the University Standards.
1951
Launched the accreditation system to evaluate membership eligibility.
1952
Approved the membership of 38 universities (18 national, 2 local public, and 18 private universities).
1995
Published the "Accreditation Manual for Universities" in preparation for the introduction of a new accreditation system based on self-assessment by each university.
1996
Launched accreditation based on self-assessment of universities.
Became a member of INQAAHE (the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education).
Became a member of INQAAHE (the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education).
2004
Certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as an agency for Certified Evaluation and Accreditation of universities.
2007~2016
Certified by the Minister of MEXT as an agency for Certified Evaluation and Accreditation of various categories including:

Established the Research Institute for Quality Assurance of Higher Education(RIQAHE).
Launced international joint accreditation for higher education institutions in partnership with TWAEA (Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association).

Launched accreditation for schools of dentistry.
2023
Recognized as a "GGP Aligned Agency" following an external review conducted by INQAAHE.
2025
Served as the host organization for the INQAAHE Conference 2025.
