JUAA and TWAEA (Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association) launched international joint accreditation in 2018. The initiative has since expanded to include ONESQA (Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment, Thailand) in 2021, MNCEA (Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation) in 2024, and CEA VNU-HCM (Center for Education Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) in 2025. It is now operated by five agencies.

The framework and standards were integrated to create synergies within each region through the knowledge exchange on international joint accreditation.
Higher education institutions that take part in this project and pass the accreditation process will not only be recognized by the international accreditation organization, but can also use it to emphasize the internationalization of their education.
