About JUAA

Toward Internationally-accepted Quality Assurance

With ongoing globalization of higher education, it has become imperative to enhance its compatibility and credibility. It is therefore necessary for the JUAA to enhance the compatibility and credibility of its quality assurance activities on a par with that of the international community.

To fulfill such an objective, the JUAA acquired full-membership in the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN). An active member at both institutions, the JUAA supported, for instance, the conference and AGM of APQN held in Japan in 2008; and summaries of the JUAA accreditation results are disclosed to the international community through INQAAHE and APQN networks.
JUAA is also an associate-member of the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS), to promote the international compatibility and credibility of Japanese business schools.

Organizing international conferences is one of the international activities of JUAA. In 2002, JUAA hosted an international symposium in cooperation with INQAAHE on quality assurance of internationally viable higher education, and adopted the Tokyo Declaration to clearly state the JUAA’s intention of making positive contributions to the international community through networking with other higher education quality assurance bodies in the Asia Pacific region.
